You'll be learning to provide esthetics services at your esthetician school. Which services will you learn?
MANUAL FACIALS
Manual facials are traditional facials where little or no equipment is used. Which facials will you be taught? Which products will you use? Are there any special massage techniques taught? Will you also learn European facials? If so, which kinds?
Find out if the school you're interested in has any clients for you to work on. Many just "dummy-up" the numbers so you can graduate.
These questions are important if you want to provide services to top end clients and to offer international quality services which are in so much demand now days!
MACHINE FACIALS
You will (hopefully) learn how to perform machine facials. I say "hopefully" because some esthetics schools have little to no actual equipment on the premises. Sounds weird huh? Because of this you should ask to SEE the equipment BEFORE you sign up. Ask them how the equipment works.
How many different kinds of machines to they have? Just one multifunction machine that all the students share? If so... not so good!
Ask if you will get to keep any equipment in your student kit. If no esthetician machines are included in your student kit, how much will these machines cost you after you graduate and how will you learn how to use them?
SPECIALTY SERVICES
Does the esthetician school you're considering include training to perform microcurrent treatments, no-surgery facelift treatments, photorejuvenation treatments, diamond microdermabrasion treatments, occlusion facials, etc? If you only learn the basics the salon or spa you work at will have to train you after they hire you. Why then would they you instead of someone that learned advanced specialty services at the school they attended?
As an esthetics professional, you want to learn as many different specialty services as you can! Choose the best that Anchorage, Alaska has to offer.
